Interns will provide instructional support to students within AGS (Academy for Global Studies) in one or more of the following classes: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics. Interns are most needed before and after school to provide assistance during busy math and science tutorials, however, there is also an occasional need for them to provide instructional support during class time and especially during collaborative learning (group work). Interns may be assigned tasks such as developing a problem-based task for students to apply their math/science knowledge, giving input on project ideas, assisting with the daily responsibilities of teaching, providing pull-out tutoring for struggling students, and providing insight on how to apply both subjects directly to our global world (one of the main goals of AGS).
Interns need to be able to communicate effectively with students directly or while in groups, maintain a professional demeanor and attitude, and have and genuine passion for the subjects of math and/or science and the field of education.
Flexible; M-F as early as 8:00 am, M-Th as late as 7:30 pm
