Interns will provide instructional support to students in one or more of the following classes: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics. Interns will have opportunities to assist in cross curricular project-based lessons in one of the four academies at Austin High (Academy for Global Studies, Academy for Science and Innovation, Academy for Design and Technology, Academy for Classical Studies). Interns are also needed before and after school to aid during busy math and science tutorials.

Interns may be assigned tasks such as developing a problem-based task for students to apply their math/science knowledge, giving input on project ideas, assisting with the daily responsibilities of teaching, providing pull-out tutoring for struggling students, and providing insight on how to apply both subjects directly to our global world.

Desired Qualities: 

Interns need to be able to communicate effectively with students directly or while in groups, maintain a professional demeanor and attitude, and have and genuine passion for the subjects of math and/or science and the field of education.

Days and Times: 

Flexible; M-F as early as 8:00 am, M-Th as late as 7:30 pm
