In this position you will get first-hand experience in an engineering classroom focusing on PBI and the utilization of technology and information in applied engineering. You will have the opportunity to help run and maintain the Maker Space on campus as well, where you can spend most of your hours if that is what interests you most. The classes that you will be involved with are Principles of Applied Engineering, Intro to Engineering (PLTW), and Intro to Engineering (PLTW). You will also get to help develop Maker Projects that can be applied in an engineering class or even in other non-engineering classrooms. You will get the opportunity to lead a lesson that you create if that is one of your internship goals. You will be working with students in grades 9-12th at different levels of expertise, intro level through advanced robotics in the classes listed earlier. Experience in engineering is not required, but get familiarized with CAD (Computer Aided Design), the Engineering Design Process, and 3D printers and other gadgets. The most important thing is that you are willing and eager to learn new things and have initiative. I am willing to teach you anything you might want to know about teaching engineering and Maker lessons, all I need is your interest!


Desired Qualities: 

Participation in UTeach Maker.

Punctuality and reliability are a must.

Must have a good attitude and be ready to help students/teacher in class.

Willingness to problem solve on technical issues that might arise.

Interest in using Making and PBI in the classroom.

Flexibility with tasks related to the classroom and Making
