At Travis, interns will collaborate with passionate, innovative teachers to maximize both the growth of the intern and the educational experience of our students. This year we are...
Supporting students in independent, inquiry-based projects (starting an after school science club, a genius hour in select classes, and more!)
Writing chemistry curriculum that is more relevant (think chemistry in cooking, household chemicals, global warming, etc...)
Refining and organizing our maker/project-based physics curriculum
Compiling data to offer targeted, personalized interventions to struggling biology and environmental systems students
Providing interventions in a variety of ways (Biology EOC/Art class, EOC tutorials during Advocacy, independent digital tutorials through Canvas, and small group pull outs)
Interns can help research, create activities, write lesson plans, and support classroom teachers in any of the experiences above and more. We are happy to play to your strengths and help you grow in your areas of interest. If you are interested in preparing materials or labs, making copies, anchors of support, etc... we can make that happen, too! We have so many exciting things going on at Travis, that I truly believe we can find something of interest for anyone!
